Historic First Presbyterian

established 1823

First Presbyterian Church was founded on September 25, 1823 and is Jackson’s oldest church. The first church was built on the corners of Main and Church streets in downtown Jackson in 1832 and remained until a new church was built in 1912 on the same site. In 1956 the congregation moved to its present location at 1573 N. Highland Avenue, formerly the estate of Clarence and Sally Pigford.

Throughout its history, First Presbyterian church has been a leader in outreach to the Jackson community, a gathering place for meaningful worship, and a warm and inviting congregation that provides enthusiastic fellowship. No matter your age or circumstances in life, we have a place for you here in our church family.  The doors of our church and the doors of our hearts are open to you.
